Counts the first day as day 1, so the date shown is the safe, earliest reading. Your receipt and Gap’s terms decide.

Holiday returns
Items bought online or in store from Oct 15 to Dec 24 can be returned until Jan 15 of the next year, or 30 days after purchase or delivery if that is later. You need proof of purchase. Items from third-party sellers are not covered.
No receipt?
For a refund you need proof of purchase: a store receipt, the shipping confirmation email, or the card you paid with. A gift returned with a gift receipt gets a gift card for the price paid. A gift returned without one gets a merchandise certificate for the current selling price.
Refunds
Card payments go back to the same card, and your bank can take up to 10 business days to post it. Gift card payments come back on a new gift card. PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and Afterpay payments are refunded through that service. Refunds include the tax you paid. Returns after day 30 (Encore tiers only) are refunded as store credit.
Fees
Mail returns are free for Encore members and cost $6 for everyone else. Exchanges are free.
- Items must be unworn and unwashed.
- Final sale items, masks and Encore Market items cannot be returned.
- Gap Maternity items can only be returned by mail.
- Opened or used Gap Beauty items cannot be returned. Unopened beauty items go back in store only.
- In-store purchases cannot be returned by mail. Gap items cannot be returned at other Gap Inc. brands’ stores.
